We are getting closer to the two-year anniversary of the two-week pause to flatten the curve. It looks like things are beginning to open back up, I just hope that it's not an election year thing.

Facebook memories from 2020 are popping up on my feed and it was two years ago this week that my daughter, Tara was performing in "Hello Dolly" at Chenango Valley High School.

I remember that some people were wondering why they were putting on the musical so early. It turned out to be a good thing because if it had been any later then it might not have happened at all.

I mentioned that some things are opening back up but not everything. Governor Hochul may have let the indoor masking requirement expire but she decided that school kids needed to keep their masks on.

Tara is a senior at CV and this will be her final musical at the school. They are performing "Seussical" on March 4th, 5th, and 6th at the CV High School Auditorium. As of now, they have to wear masks as they put on this play. I'm hoping that the Governor will change the mask mandate for schools by then but I'm not holding my breath.

2020 Coronavirus Pandemic Facebook Memories

When we look back at this time period, what will we say about it? I know what I would like to say about it now but I've probably said enough already. For my daughter Tara, I'm afraid her conversation with her classmates will be along the lines of "Remember when the teacher had her zoom class with her mic on mute?"

By now, we thought this would be behind us and hopefully, by year three, it will be. God forgive us for what we've done to our school kids.
