Boy, we can use a day like today and I think we should try to do this every day. What am I talking about? June 1st is "National Say Something Nice Day." We hear so many negative and non-constructive things coming out of people's mouths....or their keyboards today.

Whatever happened to the saying that our mom told us when we were growing up, "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all?" Today it has changed to "If you have nothing nice to say, you just say it louder and drown out everyone else."

It's amazing how someone's day can be changed for the better in a moment when you say something nice. It can change a lousy day into a good day and it only takes a little of your time.

Once something is said, you really can't take it back. You can try, you can apologize but once it's out there, it's out there. So take a moment before you write or say the thing that instantly comes to your mind. Taking a minute to think it through, will save you an hour or two of apologies and "I didn't mean that."

Isn't great when you can pay someone a compliment and it doesn't cost you a cent. It's nice to see more faces as the mask mandate is letting up, so why not bring a smile to someone's face just for the sheer joy of seeing their smile.

If you want to hear something nice, try saying something nice first. If you feel like being insulted and hearing the ugly of the world, you know where you can go to find it.  If you don't know where to go to hear the good, try the Hawk Morning Show with Glenn & Traci.

Nothing like a shameless plug but I bet it made you smile.
