If you're looking for something to do locally this weekend or something fun and educational this summer, then the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society has the answer.

On Monday, May 27th, it's the first annual Flea Market Sale at 13 Nanticoke Road next to the Janet Bowers Museum building in the Town of Maine. It's from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and all are welcome.

You are also invited to see the works of painter Marie Merithew at the Maine Space Gallery at the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society beginning on June 1st through August 11th.

You'll have the chance to meet her on Saturday, June 1st and Sunday, June 2nd from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Janet W. Bowers Museum at the Maine Space Gallery. The art will be on exhibit for the Broome County Arts Council's Broome Art Trail.

It's your chance to travel the Art Trail and view natures diversity through the eyes of Merithew. The Broome Art Trail includes over 100 participating artists and arts organizations across 53 venues throughout Broome County.

The exhibit will also be on display for the New York State Path Through History Weekend on June 16th and 17th. The Nanticoke Valley Historical Society is a non-profit that was founded to preserve and showcase the History of the Valley.

It has a Museum, School House, Grist Mill and Carriage Barns for building. Go here to find out more about them.
