November 3rd is a very popular day in the Pitcher household with my sister Michelle, my Uncle Dale and my daughter Tara all celebrating a birthday today...Oh yeah, it's my birthday too.

I've mentioned in the past that I know how the Pitcher family celebrates Valentine's Day but my mom has PLEADED with me to quit mentioning that TMI fact, so as my gift to her, I won't mention it.

I've been sharing my birthday since I was 2 when Michelle was born, I wanted a monkey for my bday but she'll do. I got the ultimate birthday present on my 40th birthday when Tara was born. She's been a "gift" to me in ways that are too numerous to count.

I say this all the time because it's true, you mean the world to me and it's been a wonderful journey that we've been taking together for all of these years. My birthday is today and you are my gift every day.

I've gotten many great gifts through the years including a trip to Nashville, Washington Redskin tickets, even "kidnapped" and taken to a bed and breakfast. This year, Traci son's, John got me Critter Casserole Mix to "enjoy." YUMMY!

As much as I like those gifts, what I would really love to celebrate my 58th trip around the sun is your gifts of food or money for the Broome County's Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW).

Food-A-Bago Food Drive For Broome County CHOW

We are in the parking lot of Weis Market on 1290 Upper Front Street in Binghamton. Your tax-deductible donation will help the hungry and ALL the proceeds stay in the Southern Tier.

Remember that CHOW can turn $1 into 5 complete meals, so if you're not sure what to give, the gift of cash is always good. As we enter Day 4 of our Food-a-Bago, here is the progress that we've made already and as the week continues, the momentum really ramps up.

Items Needed For Broome County CHOW

If your not sure what food items to donate, think about this. Think about your own pantry and what you would like to have on hand. With high food prices and continuing supply chain issues, pretty much every food category is needed.

There is also a need for diapers, wipes and formula. You can go here to see the other items that CHOW is looking for along with the times that we'll be on site at Weis Market on Upper Front Street in Binghamton.

If you can't make it to Weis during the Food-a-Bago, you can also drop off your donations at Gary's U-Pull It or 21st Century Pools & Spas during their regular business hours.

Broome County CHOW is looking for non-perishable food items but here are other things that CHOW needs.

11 Non-Food Items the Chow Warehouse Wishes It Had More Of

As we move forward, let's look back at last year's Food-a-Bago Event To Benefit CHOW
