Law enforcement agencies across New York State participate in saturation patrols several times during the year looking for drunk and dangerous drivers during particular times when incidents typically spike, including celebrations for St. Patrick's Day.

The Sheriff's Office says the crackdown starts March 16 and continues through March 21, even though the normal organized celebrations have not been scheduled due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic.

Information about the Stop DWI St. Patrick's Day Weekend Crackdown can be found at the Tioga County Sheriff's Department website along with information about pistol permits, the County Jail, signing up for emergency alert notifications, warrants and events.

Sheriff Howard and the over 100 employees of the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office are committed to the safety and security of our community.
