Life is why we walk. That is the theme for the upcoming 2017 Southern Tier Heart Walk. It's happening Sunday, April 9th on the campus at SUNY Broome. It will begin and end at the SUNY Broome Ice Center.

Money raised helps with research, education and advocacy groups to help in the fight against heart disease and stroke. We all know someone that has been affected by this.

They aren't just walking. They are Heartwalking. You and around one million Americans will walk to help build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. This is just one of 305 events that will be placing place across the country.

How can you make a positive difference in the lives of those you know and love? Join the Heart Walk, start Heartwalking and make a commitment to being healthy for good. Remember- they aren't only raising funds, they are raising heartbeats.

Go here to register. You can't make it but still want to contribute? Go here to find out how you can donate. Check-in begins at 10am and the walk starts at 11:30.

Life is an awesome reason to walk
