As I've said many times, it's so nice to have fairs, festivals, and outdoor concerts back. Do you know what else I need to include??? Outdoor events like stock car racing. There are many race tracks to choose from but including Five Mile Point Speedway.

Last Saturday was a full racing program featuring the Big Block/Small Block Modifieds. However, if you could only go to the track once this summer, I recommend next Saturday, July 31st when they will honor their track founders.

57th Heath Memorial at Five Mile Point Speedway

Five Mile Point Speedway will honor their track founders, Irving and Anna Heath with the 57th Heath Memorial. The Heaths built the speedway in 1951 and it's been in operation ever since.

Mr. Heath passed away in 1965 and his wife Anna remained the owner until 2005 when their grandson Andrew Harpell took over. Mrs. Heath passed away before the 2005 racing season.

Also making its return on July 31st is the annual Former Racer's Reunion. Every year, former drivers from all over the United States return for this event. All the former racers will be recognized and introduced at the track.

Are You A Former Driver At Five Mile Point Speedway?

So if you are a former racer at Five Mile Point Speedway, make sure that you let them know that you are coming next weekend and be a part of something special. As always, Kids 8 years old and younger will be admitted into the grandstand free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

What About Former Announcers

Now they just need to honor former announcers at the track. Does it count if I only announced there for two years? You can get directions, info, and updates for Five Mile Point Speedway here.
