Summer may almost be over but that doesn't mean that dirt track racing in the Southern Tier done. In fact, there will be two nights of racing at Five Mile Point Speedway and the weather looks great for both evenings.

They'll be hosting the National Quarter Mile Dirt Track Championship Weekend on Saturday and Sunday. This will decide the Summer Slam Championships in Modified, Crate Sportsman, Street Stocks, Wingless Sprints and Xcel 600 Modifieds.

Saturday will also feature the Factory Stock teams, the Xcel Touring 600 Modified Series and a special Modified "Dash for Cash." On Sunday, the GRIT Crate Sportsman Series and the Fantastic Five Four Cylinder will also be in the mix.

Anthony Perrego is "three for three" in the previous Modified Summer Slam events at Five Mile Point and is looking to make in four in a row.

FMP is offering the Amazing Family Five Pack, two adult, three Senior/Student tickets, five hot dogs and five sodas for $40. As always, kids 12 years old and younger will be admitted FREE in the grandstand both days.

Racing on Saturday will begin at 6 p.m. and the green flag will fly on Sunday at 5 p.m.  Go here to see the events and to keep up with any updates.
