This is something that my family and I look forward to every summer, it's a chance to get together outside, enjoy the great Binghamton outdoors and some awesome local music. It's the "Broome Bands Together" Free Concert Summer Series at Otsiningo Park.

It's coming back this year but they need your help. The Broome County Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Services is looking for bands/performers for the summer series.

It's on seven Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. They are looking for acts in all different genres of music and must be family friendly. In the past, Yada Yadas, Rooster and the Roadhouse Horns and Odd Man Out have participated.

If you're interested, e-mail Elizabeth Woidt, director of Parks, Recreation & Youth Services at bcparks@co.boome.ny.us. When you contact her, include the name of your band, contact information and a link to your work.

When you attend this summer, don't forget to bring your lawn chair or a blanket for this alcohol and tobacco free event. Forget to pack something to eat? No problem, you can buy a snack or a hot dog at the concert concession stand.

I usually buy something at the concession stand to support our local economy...It has nothing to do with the fact that I really like to eat food.

I'll see you this summer at Otsiningo Park.
