Broome County Festival of Lights Returns for the 4th Year, Spreading Holiday Magic
The Broome County Festival of Lights is returning for its fourth consecutive year to bring joy and holiday cheer to residents and visitors.
From Sunday, November 19 to Sunday, December 31, Otsiningo Park will transform into a magical wonderland, dazzling visitors with spectacular light displays and festive attractions.
This highly anticipated event promises to be a highlight of the holiday season, offering a mesmerizing Christmas light show that captivates both young and old. The festival has become a beloved tradition in Broome County, drawing crowds from across the region who gather to experience the enchantment of the season.
The Festival of Lights is also a fundraising opportunity organized in collaboration with various local groups and organizations. Numerous community organizations, including Chenango Valley Cheerleading, African Road Elementary PTA, and Maine-Endwell Class of 2024 After Prom Party, are selling tickets to the event, with proceeds supporting their respective causes and initiatives. This aspect of the festival embodies the spirit of community and giving during the holiday season.
The festival's operating hours make it convenient for families to enjoy the magical display. From Sunday to Thursday, the lights will be on from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., while on Fridays and Saturdays, the park will remain open until 10:00 p.m. Admission is $25 per carload, allowing everyone in the vehicle to experience the festival together. For those who can't get enough of the Festival of Lights, a season pass can be purchased for $60, offering unlimited access throughout its run.
As a special gesture of gratitude, veterans will be granted free admission to the festival every night by presenting their ID. This serves as a small token of appreciation for their service and sacrifices.
In addition to the breathtaking light displays, the Broome County Festival of Lights offers several special events to enhance the experience. Fireworks are scheduled for Friday, November 24, and Sunday, December 31. On Saturday, December 2, visitors can enjoy a dance performance by the BU Dance Team and Dance Intentions at 7:00 p.m.
The festival organizers say they're committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Due to safety concerns, the event is designed as a drive-thru light show, allowing families to enjoy the displays from the comfort and safety of their vehicles. Multiple laps around the park are allowed with a single night pass, allowing families to soak in the holiday ambiance to their heart's content.
The Broome County Festival of Lights has become a hallmark event during the holiday season, bringing communities together and spreading joy throughout the region. Whether you're a resident or visiting Broome County, the Festival of Lights captures the true spirit of the holiday season!
