Have You Heard Of The ‘Women’s Hope Home’ In Johnson City?
Two Rivers Church has been making a difference for over eight years and they continue to help our community in ways that can make an eternal difference. One of their missions is to make everyone feel at home.
Most of us have a safe place to go to but for some, they have nowhere to find safety or security. That's why several years ago, they started up a "Men's Hope Home" in Johnson City and their latest project is a "Women's Hope Home."
Two Rivers Church is renovating a 7,500 square foot facility that will house up to 14 women. When these women have nowhere to turn, they'll have the opportunity to turn to the "Women's Hope Home."
Women's Hope Home in Johnson City
The home will provide a residential program for women in a crisis like an unplanned pregnancy, or suffering from an alcohol and drug addiction. The women will have a place to go to change their circumstances.
It's a way for these women to turn despair into a joy-filled and productive life. During the day, they'll have work projects within the home or nearby area. The nights will be filled with faith-based addiction recovery meetings with professional Christian counseling.
The total cost of the renovation will be around $250,000 to complete. They are in need of funds and they are hoping that you can help this Saturday. One of the mottos at Two Rivers Church is "we do the natural and let God do the unnatural."
Women's Hope Home Charity Walk
So they are asking you to come to the Vestal Rail Trail on Saturday, September 25th beginning at 10:30 a.m. It's their first charity walk and whether you walk 1/2 mile, 3 miles, or just walk to the donation table, all that matters is that you show up.
The walk is completely a cash donation and 100% of the proceeds go straight to the Women's Hope Home to continue its mission and building progress.
Here's a chance to get outside in the fresh fall air and help a great cause. They'll also have raffle baskets, bracelets, and more. So bring your friends, your kids, even your dog...even your cat.
There is no need to sign up ahead of time, just show up at the Rail Trail this Saturday, September 25th to join in on the fun. To find out more about the mission of the "Women's Hope Home", go here.
I hope you'll do what you can on Saturday to help make a difference in these women's lives that need us so much. A difference for eternity...their eternity. Another one of our mottoes at Two Rivers is "Don't do the math, do your part." Your part is to show up and let the unnatural happen. Choose hope and I hope to see you on Saturday.
