Do You Remember When Tim Tebow Homered In His First At-Bat With Binghamton?
This year is the 30th year of professional baseball in Binghamton. I think that it's incredible that they have remained as the New York Mets Double-A affiliate for all these years.
It was a storybook beginning...literally...as he began his Binghamton stay with a bang. Do you remember? Were you there when it happened? It was Thursday night, April 5th, Opening Day at the ballpark when this happened.
Tim Tebow Homers On The First Pitch In His First At-Bat Of The Season
Tebow hit the first pitch for a three-run homer in his first at-bat with the new team. Here is the thing that you might not have known? It wasn't the first time that it happened. Tebow also hit a home run in his first at-bat.
Not The First Time That Tim Tebow Hit A Home Run In HIs First At-Bat
Did you know that in his first at-bat with the Mets, he hit a home run on the first pitch as well? It was Wednesday, September 8th, 2016 when he accomplished this amazing feat when he participated in the Mets Instructional League.
So was this all a part of a publicity scheme for Tebow and the New York Mets? I don't believe so and here is why. Whatever Tebow does seems to be a lightning rod.
Remember when he took a knee in prayer during the national anthem and everyone had a cow? It was called "Tebowing" and gained new life (and controversy) when Kaepernick took a knee to protest a couple of years later.
Let's not forget when Tebow attempted to make a comeback in 2021 as a tight end with Jacksonville when his old coach (Urban Meyer)became the new coach of the Jaguars. I think he caught a break by not being a part of that house on fire.
So what do you think? Was he given a pitch to hit over the fence for the Ponies? You can watch the video and try to decide for yourself.
Here's something that shouldn't cause Tim Tebow controversy. It's Tim Tebow's "Night to Shine" held at Two Rivers Church in Johnson City earlier this year.
