A Tribute Rooted in Local History

The Binghamton Bobbers name honors the city’s connection to the beginnings of Dick’s Sporting Goods. Back in 1948, an 18-year-old named Richard Stack opened a small bait and tackle shop in Binghamton with just $300. That small business has grown into the nationwide sporting goods company that we know today.

The Bobbers also celebrate something many people in the area love, spending time outdoors, especially fishing and enjoying summer by the water.

Set Sail Weekend at the Ballpark

The transformation will happen during “Set Sail Weekend” at Mirabito Stadium, where the Bobbers will face New Hampshire in a three-game series. The weekend is designed to bring fans together with a mix of baseball, and fun promotions.

Promotions and Family Fun

Each day of the weekend includes something special for fans. Friday night will end with a fireworks show. On Saturday, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will get a Bobbers-themed captain hat.

Sunday will be filled with family-friendly activities, including water zones throughout parts of the ballpark, free meals for kids, and a chance to play catch on the field before the game. There will also be a special ticket offer and on-field stroll for seniors.
