The Rumble Ponies were victorious in their first game against the Akron RubberDucks at NYSEG Stadium on the Fourth of July. In the second game of the series on July 5, Binghamton looked to keep up the fireworks from the field.

The fireworks went off at the top of the third inning as Trenton Brooks would hit a grand slam to right field to send home Ernie Clement, Mitch Longo, and Alex Call. Nellie Rodriguez would follow that up with a solo home-run fly-ball to left field. So after two and a half innings, Akron lead by a score of 5-0.

Unfortunately, the action fizzled out from there, but that would be all that Akron needed. The Rumble Ponies just couldn't seem to light the fuse and go down by the final score of 5-0. They drop to one game under 500 while the RubberDucks remain five games under 500. These two teams will face-off again on July 6 at NYSEG Stadium with a 6:35 start time.
