We are now 12 days away from Christmas. You've heard the words and sang the song but have you ever wondered what the Twelve Days of Christmas stand for exactly?

Well, wonder no longer. Here's what it stands for and you can click on the answer to see why:

1 Partridge in a Pear Tree: Jesus Christ

3 French Hens: Faith, Hope and Charity --The 3 Theological Virtues

4 Calling Birds: The 4 Gospels.

5 Golden Rings: The first 5 Books of the Old Testament, the "Pentateuch", which relays the history of man's fall from grace.

6 Geese A-laying: The 6 days of Creation

7 Swans A-swimming: The 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit

8 Maids A-milking: The 8 Beatitudes

9 Ladies Dancing: The 9 Fruits of the Holy Spirit

10 Lords A-leaping: The 10 Commandments

11 Pipers Piping: The 11 Faithful Apostles

12 Drummers Drumming: The 12 points of doctrine in the Apostle's Creed

Some argue whether or not this is really the reason behind the 12 days and honestly, it doesn't matter to me. It's an awesome way to remember 12 different things that are offered to us through the Bible.

Worse comes to worst, it's still a neat song and not nearly as offensive as "Baby, It's Cold Outside." I'm kidding.

Merry Christmas ya'll!
