The Binghamton Rumble Ponies got the win in their first game of a doubleheader against the Portland Sea Dogs on the road on July 11. Unfortunately, the second game got suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning. So, on July 12, the Ponies and Sea Dogs would play a second doubleheader beginning with the continuation of the game from the night before.

Binghamton was still in the lead 2-0 from last night as Patrick Mazeika scored Braxton Lee and Gavin Cecchini brought in Andres Gimenez. The hope in the Rumble Ponies dugout was that the momentum would carry over from the previous evening.

As luck would have it, there wasn't any momentum to be found on either side. Neither team was able to score in the remaining innings of the first game, making it a 2-0 final score in favor of Binghamton. With the first game secured in the win column, the Rumble Ponies looked to sweep the Sea Dogs and clinch game two.

In the second game, Barrett Barnes on the sacrifice fly to right field would allow Quinn Brodey to return home for the first score of the game. Mazeika would hit an RBI single to center field and Sam Haggerty crossed home plate as a result. So after two and a half innings played, the Rumble Ponies were on top 2-0.

In the top of the fourth, Brodey would hit a sacrifice bunt to score Lee. Thanks to some good defense from the outfield, Binghamton was up 3-0 after four innings of play. Barnes homered in the top of the seventh with Ali Sanchez in tow to help give the team some insurance. This would give the Rumble Ponies a 5-0 lead.

For the second straight game, Binghamton was able to blank Portland as they would win by a final score of 5-0. The Rumble Ponies have won five straight games and six of their last seven. They have also improved their record to 46-42 overall. These two teams will match up again on July 13 at 6 P.M.
