Before you dunk that next Oreo cookie, you might want to be be aware of the recall that has forced Mondelex Global (formally known as Nabisco Brands) to voluntarily pull two varieties of the popular cookie off the shelves across the country, including at stores in the Greater Binghamton area.

If you are allergic to dairy this may especially be a problem as the company failed to list milk on the package ingredient list.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the company wrote in a press release.

Look for the codes on the bottom left hand corner of the package to see if you have one of these (or both) products:  The products affected by this recall are:

Oreo Fudge Cremes, Original variety (11.3 oz package) with the UPC code: 0 44000 02694 3, with the "best when used by" dates:

“This recall is a result of analysis conducted by the FDA related to this product,” according to the recall notice.

“Consumers who have this product should not eat it and should discard any products they may have. Consumers can contact the company at 855-535-5948, 24 hours a day to get more information about the recall.”
