Today is Squirrel Appreciation Day. It's a lot like Groundhog Day because it's an under-appreciated day that has to do with varmints. By the way, did you see that this year, the Groundhog Day celebration in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania is canceled?

However, Punxsutawney Phil will be available on Cameo. UGH, another thing that we look forward to every year is postponed. Whoops, I drifted into real life, so let's float back to the irreverent and give some mildly amusing and nutty squirrel fun facts.

Squirrels are tiny, covered in hair, and can be aggressive. I'm glad that none of my relatives are like that...That's right, they aren't aggressive.

In 2007, Iran claimed that 14 squirrels near the nation's border were actually spies. I think that was the original plot was for the movie "Spies Like Us."

Chipmunks are like most squirrels...except they have stripes, make not-so-great kid movies, and sing Christmas songs.
