The first time I met Kaitlyn Jackson in the Hawk studio, I thought she was 19 or 20.  Then she told me she was 13. Wow!

Kaitlyn has always projected a great deal of vocal maturity, the kind that when she sings, she commands attention.

Fast forward 5 years to 2015 and with the release of her self-titled sophomore CD, she again comes across with a vocal delivery of someone who has been in the industry for many years. The truth is, this 17-year-old is the same down-to-earth girl I first met from Norwich.

It's her easy going personality that makes it easy to see why everyone loves Kaitlyn!

Kaitlyn Jackson has had great success playing many local venues in the Southern Tier, including a number of appearances for us at 98.1 the Hawk. She was the winner of our 'Hawk Hitmaker Challenge' and opened for some big national acts including Joe Nichols, Cole Swindell, Kristen Bush and Mark Wills.

Singing in the studio, on a big concert stage or on national TV, this American Idol contestant always comes across as comfortably melodic when showcasing her extreme talent.

Amazingly all 8 songs on this album are originals. The album leads with Break It Down, which is reminiscent of something LeAnn Rimes might have done. I think every girl can relate to the feel good attitude of this song. This is a very good introduction to Kaitlyn's music.

My favorite track on the album is the breezy Road To A New Love.  On this track, Kaitlyn delivers an optimistic vocal that makes you want to roll your windows down and crank it up loud. Great vocals.

Let Me Down Easy is the kind of song you want to share with your best friend.  As with every track on this album, there are great vocals and impeccable musicianship.  Kaitlyn was lucky to find the Grammy award nominated producer Kent Wells, who shines with every single track on this album

On I'd Rather Be Me, Kaitlyn shares how relationships can be complicated and this is a song every teen should hear.  A great message for all to hear.

Kaitlyn really shows her range with All The Little Things.  If you're having a bad day, put this song on for a little perspective as this song will bring you hope.

Until should be a great song to catch in concert.  The song deals with looking back and moving on.  It is great hearing some banjo on this track.

Kaitlyn Jackson delivers an excellent sophomore album filled with catchy material, strong vocals, great production and writing.  There isn't a bad song on the album.  She should be very proud because all her hard work makes this project shine.

Look for Kaitlyn Jackson's new album when you see her out on the road, at Made in Chenango gift shop in her hometown of Norwich and on iTunes.
