Newark Valley Corn Maize Has Important Message
I'm always looking for some cool things to do around the Southern Tier that don't cost an arm and a leg. For many years now, friends of mine would take this adventure to nearby Newark Valley to tour a real corn "MAIZe." They would come back with some great photos and the following year, more people would join them. It sounded like the best time and these were all adults having the time of their life at this beautiful family farm.
While they sell produce, pumpkins in every size and shape, mums and asters, the true star of my adventure was the 8 acre family friendly "MAIZe." It's an incredible feeling being outside in this natural corn field, This year's theme has an important message for all; "adopt don't shop" to support local animal shelters. The amount of detail and work that went in to this year's theme will have you telling all your friends.
So if you're looking for something fun and different to do this this weekend or throughout Fall, check out Stoughton Farm in nearby Newark Valley, NY. It's easy to find. For directions or more details, go to their web site: stoughtonfarm.com
