If you are getting ready for the Super Bowl and planning to serve chicken wings, you are not alone. In New York State, wings are a huge part of game day. A new study shows that New York is still one of the best places in the country to find great wings, even if we are not number one anymore.

BizInsure looked at thousands of wing restaurants listed on Yelp in the 100 biggest cities in the country. They compared ratings, number of wing spots, and reviews to see which cities really stood out.

Buffalo Is Still Wing Country

Buffalo is famous for being the place where chicken wings were first created, so it is no surprise that it did really well in the study. Buffalo ranked number two in the country for the most wing restaurants per 100,000 people.

One spot that really stood out was Lakeshore Cafe in Buffalo, which earned a super high 4.7 out of 5 rating on Yelp. That tells us that lots of people really love their wings there.

New York City Has a Top Rated Wing Spot

New York City also did very well in the study, especially when it comes to quality. The top rated wing spot in New York City is PaPa Chicken, and it earned a near perfect 4.9 out of 5 rating. The study also showed that New York City had one of the highest average ratings for wing restaurants in the whole country.

Why Wings Matter So Much in New York

In New York, wings are more than just food. They are part of sports, family parties, and hanging out with friends. Whether you are watching the Bills, the Giants, or just cheering for the commercials, wings are usually on the table.

If you are ordering wings for your Super Bowl party, this study is a good reminder to support local spots. Places like Lakeshore Cafe in Buffalo and PaPa Chicken in New York City are getting lots of love for a reason.
