New York City Named One of America’s Best Places for Breakfast, But Buffalo Wins Late Night
If you've ever found yourself wanting something to eat after a concert, game, or late shift, New York State has something to brag about. A new study that looked at Yelp reviews from major cities across the country found that Buffalo has the highest-rated late night food scene in America.

Buffalo got an average rating of 4.29 out of 5 stars, beating every city in the study. Researchers looked at restaurants tagged as "Good for Late Night" on Yelp and compared thousands of reviews.
Researchers Compared Breakfast and Late Night Restaurants
The study looked at the 100 most populated cities in the United States. They used Yelp's "Good for Late Night" and "Good for Breakfast" filters to compare restaurant ratings in each city. They then calculated average ratings to see which cities did best in each category.
New York Also Scored High for Breakfast
While Buffalo won the late night category, New York City ranked near the top for breakfast restaurants. The Big Apple finished second with a breakfast rating of 4.03 out of 5 stars with Los Angles taking the top breakfast spot.
Why Buffalo May Have Earned the Top Ranking
The study found that most cities across the country scored better for breakfast than late night dining, making Buffalo's first-place finish even more impressive. Researchers think that Buffalo's strong sports culture and busy nightlife help support its late night restaurant scene.
A Point of Pride for New Yorkers
Whether you're an early riser looking for pancakes and coffee or someone searching for food after midnight, New York State has plenty of options. This latest study shows that when it comes to late night dining, Buffalo is the best city in America for it.
