Most people have a bucket list. Maybe it's learning a new skill, or traveling somewhere far away. A new study found that New Yorkers have some of the biggest bucket lists in the country, but many are struggling to make it happen.

New Yorkers Have Longer Bucket Lists Than Most Americans

According to Choice Mutual, New York ranks fifth in the nation for the longest bucket lists. The average New Yorker still has 23 things they want to do in their lifetime. Across the country, the average is closer to 19.

Learning A New Language Is The Most Popular Goal

57% of New Yorkers want to learn a new language. That was the most common bucket list item in the state. Whether it's Spanish, Italian, French, or another language, many people hope to learn how to communicate with people from different cultures.

New Yorkers Dream Of Visiting Asia

Every state had a bucket list item that stood out from the rest. In New York, one of the unique goals was visiting famous landmarks in Asia. From the Great Wall of China to temples in Japan, New Yorkers dream of seeing some of the world's most famous places with their own eyes.

Money Is The Biggest Roadblock

Having a bucket list is one thing. Paying for it is another. The study found that over 85% of New Yorkers say money is the biggest thing stopping them. Travel, classes, and special experiences can be expensive, making it harder to turn their dreams into reality.

New Yorkers Still Believe They Can Do It

The state ranked second in the nation for people who believe they will eventually complete their entire bucket list. 57% said they think they'll accomplish everything on their list. That might be the most New York thing of all. Big dreams, big goals, and the belief that somehow, some way, they'll get there.
