A local veterans organization is getting some help from a longtime Binghamton business. On Tuesday, June 23rd, Auchinachie Cares will present a $1,000 donation to the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group (STVSG) at the company's offices on Frederick Street in Binghamton.

Helping Veterans for Nearly 15 Years

The Southern Tier Veterans Support Group started when a small group of veterans from Lockheed Martin in Owego wanted to help fellow veterans in the community. They worked with local veterans organizations to learn what services and support veterans needed most.

Serving Veterans Across the Region

Today, STVSG works with more than 70 partner organizations. The group helps veterans, active service members, and their families in 14 counties across the Southern Tier. They provide financial assistance, educational support, and connections to important services. This August, the organization will celebrate 15 years of helping local veterans.

A Commitment to Giving Back

Chris Holleran, President of Auchinachie Services, said the company is proud to support the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group and its mission. He said the donation is a way to recognize the group's years of service and the difference it makes in the lives of local veterans.

More Than $100,000 Donated

Auchinachie Services created the Auchinachie Cares program in 2016. Each month, the program selects a local nonprofit organization to receive a $1,000 donation. The goal is to raise awareness about important community groups and support the work they do. The program has now donated more than $100,000 to charities throughout the Greater Binghamton area.
