Tanya Tucker Cancels Tioga Downs Concert Due to Medical Treatment
68-year-old country singer Tanya Tucker, who was scheduled to perform at Tioga Downs Casino on August 20 has made the decision to cancel her performance as she "continues to recover from ongoing medical treatment."
According to a press release from Stephen Donnelly & Associates, anyone who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster.com will automatically see a refund to the account through which they purchased tickets. Those who purchased tickets through the Tioga Downs gift shop should return to the gift shop with both their tickets and sales receipt starting on Monday, August 16 at 10:00 a.m. in order to receive a full refund.
All tickets sales from the Tanya Tucker concert were to have been given to the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group along with a matched donation per ticket given by Tioga Downs Casino owner Jeff Gural.
Although the concert has been cancelled, not only will $40,000 from the 2,000 concert tickets sold be donated to the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group, but Gural will match the donation, giving the local veterans support organization a total donation of $80,000. In a press release, Gural stated, "Donating the money from all the tickets sold is very important to me so I am happy to do it and I hope to have another benefit concert sometime next summer.”
Not only did Tanya Tucker cancel the Tioga Downs Casino concert but she also cancelled all of the rest of her shows for the month of August, including her scheduled August 19 show at Vernon Downs. There is no word on what Ms. Tucker's medical condition or treatment is.
