Catch Lee Trevino At The UHS Health Expo
The DICK'S Sporting Goods Open at En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott is considered one of the Southern Tier highlights of the summer. This year, it runs from Monday, July 7th to Sunday, July 13th and it's more than golf and a Friday night concert with Maroon 5.
There is also the annual UHS Health Expo and it'll take place on Wednesday, July 9th as part of UHS’s commitment to promoting health and wellness. Everyone that attends will have the chance to connect with UHS experts from different departments and enjoy the interactive activities.
Lee Trevino to Speak at UHS Health Expo
This year’s guest speaker at the Health Expo is Lee Trevino who retired before ever playing in the Champions Tour at En-Joie for the Dick’s Sporting Good’s Open. Trevino is considered one of the greatest golfers of all time and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1981.
He won six major championships and 29 PGA Tour events over the course of his career. He is one of only four players to twice win the U.S. Open, The Open Championship and the PGA Championship. The Masters Tournament was the only major that eluded him.
Trevino is also a Marine Corps veteran who served four years as a machine gunner before being discharged and entering the PGA Tour. He was able to play golf during his time in the military with other officers and played in Armed Services golf events in Asia.

He officially retired from golf in 1985. From 1983 to 1989, he worked as a color analyst for PGA Tour coverage on NBC. Most notably (at least to me), was his appearance in Happy Gilmore and has been confirmed to be in Happy Gilmore 2. The last movie I saw in a theater was American Sniper…this may actually bring me out of theater retirement.
The UHS Expo with Lee Trevino on Wednesday, July 9th begins at 4 p.m. It's FREE to attend but registration is required in advance by calling 607-205-1500 or by visiting www.nyuhs.org.
