En-Joie Fan-Favorite Won’t Be Playing At The DICK’S Sporting Goods Open

DICK'S Sporting Goods Open Week is here and there is much going on including the UHS Golf Expo with Darren Clarke on Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m. There's the Pro-Am on Wednesday and Thursday and Kenny Chesney comes to town on Friday, June 23rd.

Friday is the opening round on "Sock Out" Cancer Awareness Day as the best golfers over the age of 50 come to En-Joie Golf Course. There will be many familiar faces in the field including last week's US Open participant and  2022 DICK'S Sporting Goods Open champion, Padraig Harrington.

Joey Sindelar Won't Be Playing In The DICK'S Sporting Goods Open

However there will be one very familiar name that won't be participating. Fan favorite and two-time winner of the B.C. Open, Joey Sindelar will not be teeing it up on Friday. He will take part in the Pro-Ams on Wednesday and Thursday but when it's time to tee-it up for real on Friday, he won't be part of the field.

The last time that he played was last September at Pebble Beach in the PURE Insurance Championship. Sindelar has been struggling for the last two years and because of his arthritis, he's decided to take the Tour's disability policy. The good news is that En-Joie's favorite son will be on hand as a member of Team DICK'S Sporting Goods Open.

Kenny Chesney At DICK'S Sporting Goods Open

Tickets are still available for the Kenny Chesney Show on Friday night and there is a lot of other activities taking place over the weekend. There is "Enjoie The Day on HHK"  on Saturday, where you can get a free ticket to "enjoie" Saturday's round of golf.

Family Fun Night At DICK'S Sporting Goods Open

Saturday concludes with "Family Fun Night" with Toy Story on the Jumbotron on the 18th Green at 8 p.m. Just show up with your blanket or chair for the movie and end the night with the BIGGEST fireworks show that Broome County has ever seen starting at 9:30 p.m.
