Honoring Spring Sports Athletes During the Coronavirus Pandemic
The school year remains on hold in New York because of the coronavirus pandemic. Most people think that the students will not return this semester and I feel bad for the seniors that aren't able to play spring sports.
With COVID-19, things will be different this year for our seniors and I LOVE what Chenango Valley is doing for student-athletes tonight, Friday, April 24th. They are joining the #BeTheLight movement.
They will be lighting up their stadium and scoreboard to recognize their spring sports athletes. The special Senior Night will start at 8:20 p.m. and the names of all spring senior athletes will be recognized.
They will be live streaming their event here, so you can enjoy it from home. They want everyone to stay home for the event and not to go to the stadium or the surrounding area. That want everyone to continue to do their part to keep the Warrior Community safe.
There is something that we all can do especially for those who live in the area. We are being encouraged to turn on our porch light during the event and pay tribute to them. They also want everyone to put on their Warrior Wear (red and gray) and enjoy it from your home or porch.
That is what I'm going to do and if you live in the area, I hope you will too...Even if you don't live in the area, I hope you'll join us.
