As many of you know, my daughter, Tara loves to go ghost hunting. She's gone to Gettysburg several times and has had good success getting pictures of orbs. She also has her own YouTube channel under the name of "Paranormal Girl."

She loves to travel to see supernatural phenomenon and she was thrilled when she found out that there is a haunted location in our own area. It's the Fainting Goat Island Inn in Nichols and only a mile away from Tioga Downs.

It started out as a railroad hotel in the late 1800s and today they are known for the fainting goats and the four Pyrenees Mountain Dogs. But ask their guests and they'll tell you about their ghostly encounters. You'll hear stories about voices in the night or seeing two ladies enjoying tea in the Fainting Room.

There have been reports of footsteps heard on staircases that don't exist. You'll even hear about visitors finding a child-sized chair next to the bed in the Nubian Room. If you go to the Fainting Goat Island Inn Facebook Page, you'll even find someone asking how the doll is behaving. The reply was hilarious: What! There's a doll???

Last September, the Fainting Goat was named the second most haunted hotel in the country by USA Today behind the Mizpah Hotel in Tonopah in Nevada. But wait there's more!

The Fainting Goat will be featured this Saturday, September 5th at 11 p.m. on the Travel Channel's series called "Hotel Paranormal. It's narrated by  Dan Aykroyd of "Ghostbusters" fame. The episode is called "The Witching Hour" so set your DVR (do people still record programs that way) now. If you miss it, it'll be rebroadcast several times in the next couple of weeks.

I want to say congratulations to a fellow Warren Center, Pa resident, William (or as I know him, Billy) Gamble. He's heavily involved with the Fainting Goat and has helped bring it to its current prominence in the public ey. No, I'm not saying that so that I can get a room there soon.
