Binghamton got blanked on August 3 by a final score of 3-0 against Akron. In the rubber match on August 4, the Rumble Ponies looked to defeat the RubberDucks and take the series victory.

Nellie Rodriguez helped strike the first blow for Akron going into the bottom of the second. A double on a line drive to left field scored both Alex Call and Andruw Monasterio. Rodriguez was brought home himself on the RBI single from Logan Ice. RubberDucks led 3-0 after two innings.

It wasn't until the bottom of the eighth when Akron began to apply even more pressure to the Rumble Ponies. Trenton Brooks with a triple to right brought home Nolan Jones. Brooks would be sent home thanks to an RBI single from Conor Marabell. It was a 5-0 RubberDuck lead after eight.

The Rumble Ponies had one more chance in the ninth, but couldn't get anything going. They fell by a final score of 5-0. After suffering their second straight shutout loss, the team's overall record stands at 57-54. With this series completed, Binghamton will return home for a three-game homestand against the Harrisburg Senators. The first game will be held on August 6 at NYSEG Stadium starting at 6:35 P.M.
