This is an event that I look forward to every year and it's here this weekend. The 2019 Broome County Humane Society's Duck Derby is this Sunday, July 28th, at the Holiday Inn Downtown Binghamton. The ducks will take to the water earlier this year and it'll begin it at 10 a.m. and concludes at 1 p.m.

You can still adopt a duck or two...even a Mega Quack Pack. Duck adoption begins at $5 for one duck, $25 for 6 (1 free). It goes as high as 50 ducks for $250 (20 bonus ducks). There'll also be games, music, animals, vendors and more.

First place prize is $5,000 but the real winner are the animals. Money from every duck adopted will go to The Humane Society. They are an independent non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to the prevention of animal cruelty and finding permanent, loving homes for companion animals.

They service the community by sheltering animals, finding them homes, investigating reports of animal cruelty, educating people of all ages and rescuing animals from life threatening situations.

My family has been involved for the past couple of years in the Duck Derby. We have tagged ducks, dropped the ducks into the water and helped retrieve them after the event was over. We've adopted ducks too.

The quacktivities are this Sunday so help them reach their goal of 10,000 ducks adopted (over 8,500 adopted already). Don't miss out and get your duck today, go here to adopt your duck/ducks.

QUACK, QUACK!
