DICK’S Sporting Goods Open Announces ‘Birdies For Cancer’
There are so many things that we love about the DICK'S Sporting Goods Open. The world's best golfers over 50 years old, the Friday night country concert (Zac Brown, August 19th), and the boost to the local economy.
However, the biggest thing that they do is raise money for charity with Broome County Community Charities. They don't just say it, they put their money where their mouth as they announce "Birdies for Cancer."
DICK'S Sporting Goods Open "Birdies for Cancer"
Broome County Community Charities is the non-profit arm of the DICK'S Sporting Goods Open and on Tuesday, May 3rd, they announced the new "Birdies for Cancer" program with Security Mutual Life.
Birdies for Cancer will raise funds for both the UHS and Lourdes Hospital Foundations. UHS and Lourdes will equally receive every penny of the donations, they will also get a 10% match on every dollar raised, thanks to Security Mutual.
Broome County Community Charities will absorb all of the credit card fees so more money will be going to the UHS and Lourdes Hospital Foundations. You can also be a part of this great program.
You or your business can make a flat donation or a pledge based on the number of "birdies" that are made at this year's DICK'S Sporting Goods Open. In 2021, there were 804 birdies during the DICK'S Sporting Goods Open. Go here to get involved.
Cancer has affected everyone in one way or another and here is a way that we can Sock Out Cancer. The 2022 DICK'S Sporting Goods Open is at En-Joie Golf Course in Endicott from August 15th to the 21st.
