The Binghamton Rumble Ponies won against the Altoona Curve in an amazing 7-5 comeback on June 28. On June 29, Binghamton hoped their win streak would extend into the double-header at PNG Field.

The first game started on a positive note as Barrett Barnes would double on a line drive to left to score Gavin Cecchini at the top of the first inning, giving the Rumble Ponies the early lead. Cecchini would assist in the scoring again at the top of the fifth as he singled on a fly ball to left to bring in Will Toffey, giving Binghamton a 2-0 lead. The game would later go into a brief rain delay in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Once play resumed, the Curve got a run off a sacrifice fly to right field from Jason Delay to score Robbie Glendinning. However, it would not be enough as the Rumble Ponies were able to close out the inning and take the victory in game one by the score of 2-1.

In the second game, Binghamton seemed to pick up right where they left off in the first game. An RBI double to left field from Barnes would allow Luis Carpio to come home and score the first run of the game. At the bottom of the first, Altoona would quickly tie the score as Bralin Jackson grounds an RBI single to center field giving Mitchell Tolman the opportunity to cross home plate.

At the bottom of the second inning, Tolman's fly ball to center leads to a score from Brett Pope to help put the Curve on top 2-1. But the Ponies wouldn't go away as Jason Krizan ties the score in the top of the fifth thanks to Andres Gimenez and his RBI single to right field. The game would not be settled in the seven innings of regulation, so we would head into extra innings.

At the top of the eighth, Quinn Brodey scores Carpio on an RBI single to right field to take the lead for Binghamton. Once again, Altoona would accept the challenge and answer back with another game-tying run. This one would come off a bunting ground ball from Arden Pabst to score Jackson. The Ponies couldn't manage to score in the ninth inning but the Curve received a gift as Gift Ngoepe came home to score off the Chris Sharpe RBI single grounder to win the game 4-3

In closing, the two teams split the doubleheader as the Rumble Ponies were victorious in game one while the Curve won game two in extra innings. Binghamton will play the finale of this series against Altoona on June 30 at People's Natural Gas Field at 6 P.M.
