If you feel like flowers, cards and jewelry aren’t setting the bar high enough, I’ve got the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for the bug lover in your life. The only person in my life that I think would find this cool would be my sister who gets so excited over bugs. No, I don’t know where she came from.
If you’ve got a bug lover in your life, for $10, the Bronx Zoo will let you name one of their Madagascar hissing cockroaches after your special someone. And for $15 more, they’ll send that person a dark chocolate replica roach to commemorate it.
The money goes to the Wildlife Conservation Society, and they’ll send an e-card to the person you name the roach for. If you’re looking to give something more tangible than an e-card, for another $15 they’ll send a hand-painted replica cockroach made of dark chocolate.
