Weather got in the way for the first couple weeks at Five Mile Point Speedway and pushed back the beginning of the season until last Saturday. It looks like it was worth the wait.

It was the first race in the Modified Summer Slam series and the Wingless Sprints made their first ever appearance at the track. Anthony Perrego started where he left off last year with a victory. He made a last lap pass in the Modified opening event to take the checkered flag.

The Wingless Sprint Car feature became a two car match race between Thomas Radivoy and Eric Jennings. It was an exciting race and we are all looking forward to watching this class grow.

This Saturday, Five Mile Point Speedway begins the first night of point racing in all classes. The Modifieds will run 30 laps and the rescheduled Tommy Boy 20 for Factory Stocks will lead the pack of a big racing program on Saturday.

The gates open at 4 p.m., hot laps at 6:05 p.m. and the green flag flies at 7 p.m. As always, kids 12 and under get in for free. For more info and updates, go here and get ready for the dirt to fly this Saturday night at Five Mile Point Speedway.
