Sorry, cat lovers, your furry friend secretly wants to kill you. Not my words- this comes from a new study of cats.

Researchers from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland teamed up with several zoos to analyze the personalities of domestic cats and wildcats using the “Big Five” personality traits found in people which are: openness, conscientiousness, extraversion/introversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism

The researchers found that 100 domesticated cats in two shelters shared the same three personality traits as African lions: neuroticism, impulsiveness, and dominance.

So, basically, your cat would consider killing you...if it were a lion, but it's not- so I don't think you have much to worry about.

“If you’re standing among a pride of lions, sometimes you’ll be fine and other times they will pounce and attack for no reason,” psychologist Max Wachtel said.  “And it’s the same for little domestic house cats,” though they’re “harmless, basically.”
