With almost everything on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic, we look for anything to break and shake the monotony. We crave and miss our sports and we can't wait until we can go to see our favorite sporting event.

The WNBA draft happened earlier this week and the ratings were up 123% from last year. The NFL draft begins tonight at 8 p.m. on ESPN, the NFL Network, and ABC and promises to be a record-setting night.

COVID-19 has brought all sports to a halt including the Southern Tier of New York. The Binghamton Devils would be making their run in the playoffs for the first time in many years. The Binghamton Rumble Ponies would be getting ready for a seven-game homestand at NYSEG Stadium tonight.

Let's not forget about the high school sports that not only have been put on hold but games that seniors will never have a chance to play. I was honored to be part of the Motorsports Expo at the Oakdale Mall on the first weekend of March and the race tracks have been put on hold.

The 70th anniversary season of racing at Five Mile Point Speedway was put on hold. The Mike Colsten Remembered 51 lap Modified Special was scheduled for last weekend, Saturday, April 18th.

The other early-season event was the Short Track Super Series Modified 70th Anniversary Special was scheduled for Sunday, May 3rd. These events will be rescheduled but no makeup date has been set yet.

The DICK'S Sporting Goods Open at En-Joie Golf Course is up in the air for August and we'll find out soon if that event will be on-time, rescheduled, or canceled...No, I still don't know who is performing on Friday, August 14th.

I don't know about you but I'm done watching sporting events from the past 20 years...except Syracuse's national championship win over Kansas in 2003. What sporting event do you miss the most?
