Veteran Appreciation Night and Fireworks at BC Festival of Lights
In case you haven't heard by now, the holiday lights display is back at Otsiningo Park after being absent for 10 years. Formerly known as the Hometown Holiday Lights Spectacular, it's now called the Broome County Festival of Lights.
You can take a drive around the park every night beginning at 5 p.m. until January 10th. Besides enjoying the sights, they also are doing special events. There was supposed to be a Holiday Hot Air Balloon Glow on Wednesday, December 9th but was canceled because of the snow and wind.
The next glow is scheduled for Saturday, December 19th, weather willing. If your not sure when you want to come to the Broome County Festival of Lights, you might want to consider this Saturday, December 12th. they'll have fireworks for Veteran Appreciation Night beginning at 7 p.m.
It'll be rain or shine but the weather looks good with clouds and temperatures around 40. Keep in mind that they anticipate the park will fill up fast because of the limited space available. They also are planning on another firework night on New Year's Eve.
By the way, Traci and I will be at the Broome County Festival of Lights on Thursday, December 17th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. We'll be handing out candy canes to the kids and singing Christmas carols over the park radio. We'll take your requests and I've been practicing "Dominick the Christmas Donkey" so I hope someone wants to hear it. Hee Haw Hee Haw!
