If you had to guess the biggest problem women face in the workplace, how would you even begin to answer? Most people gravitate toward issues such as varying forms of harassment or pay inequality, so it comes as a bit of a surprise that neither of those two topped the list in a study on women in the workplace.

Fairygodboss is a women's career website and they looked dug deep to find out what the biggest struggles are that the average woman faces in the workplace and the answers were surprising to some, and not so much to those who deal with them on a daily basis.

Women spoke up to say that they tend to quietly carry the bulk of the workload, keeping things going, and more often than not, aren't recognized for the work they do. Another thing that women said they deal with constantly is being overlooked for promotions. An unbelievable 44 percent of women said they feel their companies didn't do all that they could to treat men and women fairly and of those 44 percent, an alarming 79 percent of them said that women simply don't get an equal chance at workplace promotions.
