For over nine years, Bill Vinci, host and producer of the Empire Plate, has traveled across New York State to feature special family-owned bars and restaurants and the delicious dishes they serve.

One of the most iconic dishes featured on the Empire Plate is the New York-style pizza which is a staple of the New York food scene. Another famous dish featured on the Empire Plate is the Buffalo wing which was invented in Buffalo and has become a favorite snack food all over the world.

Lesser known but equally delicious dishes featured on the Empire Plate include the Rochester-style garbage plate which is a bed of home fries or macaroni salad, topped with a choice of meat and smothered in onions, mustard, and hot sauce.
