Little League World Series Updates Their Admission Policy

Remember the summer of 2016? Yes, it was the year our Maine-Endwell Little League team won the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Maybe you were there, or maybe you were like me and watched it on television. It was an exciting game, and to have a local team win a world championship, well that's beyond words.

It was the 70th annual Little League World Series, and I remember the excitement of the game as Maine-Endwell advanced to the championship game against Seoul, South Korea, winning by a score of 2 to 1. That was a game for the baseball history books in my opinion.

I know that even if we don't have a local or regional team playing in the Little League World Series, many people from our area make the two hour or so trek to Williamsport, Pennsylvania to catch what real baseball is all about. It's something that should be on everyone bucket list who loves the sport of baseball.

Well, some unfortunate news my Little League baseball friends. According to the Little League Facebook Page, an announcement was made concerning limiting a general admission policy update for the 2021 series.

It's unfortunate the amount of spectators will be limited, but probably in the best interest, health and safety of the 16 teams who will be playing in the Little League World Series this month. This year's Baseball Little League World Series will be held August 19th through the 29th. Those who do get to attend the game will be required to wear a face mask according to the Little League website.
