You probably know by now that Maine-Endwell came from behind to defeat Kentucky 13-10 in the Little League World Series in South Williamsport last night. They advance to the U.S. Championship Game on Saturday, but that's only part of the story.

There is nothing like Little League baseball. I remember playing it as a child and now as an adult, watching the kids from Maine-Endwell acting more like adults than the players in the majors has been a treat.

I saw some questionable strike three's called on them last night. Did they complain or throw their bat? No, they just went back to the dugout. We all could learn something from their actions.

Watching the kids play for free and with class is exciting, but watching the parents in the stands is even better. Any parent (including myself) will tell you that it's tougher watching your child play than playing yourself because there's nothing you can do for them but cheer.

Take the standout from last night's game, Jude Abbadessa. He had 6 RBI's including a home run and was on the mound to end the game, but the real treat was watching his mom, Alicia in the stands.

I'm so glad that I can rewind live TV because watching Mrs. Abbadessa's expressions as she watched Maine-Endwell play brought me so much joy. I found myself tearing up and even chuckling a little as she was watching her son and the rest of the team.

Even the ESPN announcers said that she was missing a good game when she looked away here and there because she couldn't stand the suspense.

I really enjoyed Mrs. Abbadessa's interview with Jaymee Sire from ESPN during the game. At one point, she said she was blessed to be a part of this but I just want you to know how blessed I feel watching YOU as you represent yourself as a Little League Mom.

To quote Tom Hanks from League of Their Own, "There's no crying in baseball." That might be true, but I cried watching you watch your son play ball.

By the way, Maine-Endwell will play the winner of the Tennessee/Kentucky game on Saturday at 3:30pm. Maine-Endwell has defeated both teams already, so if they win on Saturday, they'll advance to the world championship game.

If you've never been to the Little League World Series Complex and are wondering what it looks like, Traci Taylor and her family took a Trip on a Tank there and this is what they discovered. It's really awesome.
