I am in constant awe of the place that I get to call home, which is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever lived, and I lived all over the United States.

My family calls Silver Lake Township in Pennsylvania (population 1,716) home. I’m still surprised how many people from just across the border in New York think that Brackney is ages away. On an uneventful morning, I can get from my house in Brackney to my job in downtown Binghamton in under 25 minutes.

To live in the presence of the Susquehanna river among the rolling hills, small mountains, and stunning farmland is an honor. It also poses opportunity after opportunity to take stunning photographs. Whether you’re a resident or visitor of our beautiful region, you’re invited to explore, snap some photos and submit them in the 10th Annual Susquehanna Greenway Photo Contest; Treasured Towns and Landscapes of the Susquehanna.

There are four different categories that you can enter and they are landscapes, river towns, adventures, and wildlife. First place will win $150, second place will take home $100, and third place winner will receive $50. Additionally, the winning photographs will be printed, framed, and included in a traveling gallery.

While anyone who would like to participate is encouraged to do so, all photos must be taken within the Susquehanna Greenway Corridor which is a 500-mile corridor of interconnected land and water trails that parallel the Susquehanna River and its West Branch in Pennsylvania. Be sure to check out the map of the Susquehanna Greenway Corridor.

The deadline to submit your photographs is June 30, 2021, and you'll need to visit the Susquehanna Greenway website for contest specifics and to submit your photos.
