To begin their home series against the Altoona Curve, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies underwent a new identity as the Binghamton Stud Muffins on "What If" night on June 14 at NYSEG Stadium.

Through the first three innings of the contest, both teams looked a little raw as neither team could get cooking, remaining scoreless early. The top of the fourth is where Altoona took the first bite of the ballgame. Bligh Madris hits a line drive to right field for RBI single, followed by Hunter Owen coming home thanks to a Jason Delay grounder gives the Curve a 2-0 lead.

Quinn Brodey would score Ali Sanchez on an RBI single to give the Stud Muffins their first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth. Sanchez would pop one out of the oven to center field, scoring David Thompson and tieing the game in the bottom of the fifth. The tie wouldn't last very as long as a grounder to second from Delay would bring home Jerrick Suiter to put Altoona back up by one at the top of the sixth.

Robbie Glendinning would send it back to the kitchen as he homers two, giving the Curve the 5-2 lead at the top of the seventh. Still cooking at the top of the eighth, Bralin Jackson bats an RBI double to center for another Owen score for a 6-2 lead. Altoona would close the bakery at the bottom of the ninth as Binghamton loses the opening series game by the final score of 6-2.

The Stud Muffins and their bakery may have gotten burned, but the Rumble Ponies plan to catch some fire from the grill as they will dawn their Binghamton Spiedies uniforms for Italian Heritage Night on June 15 at 6:35.
