Star Spangled Challenge Back With the Great New York State Fair

Oh say can you sing? Can you sing by the dawn's early light? If you answered "yes" then this competition is for you! BUT TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO ENTER THE CONTEST!!!!

It's the Star Spangled Challenge, back again after a successful first year, with the Great New York State Fair. Once again, today is the last day to enter on the New York State Fair Facebook page.

Create and submit a short video (no longer than three minutes) that shows you performing the first verse of "The Star-Spangled Banner".

You can sing alone or in a group, or submit an instrumental-only version to be considered. A panel of judges will narrow the entries to 20 finalists.

Voting will then begin on a special page on the fair's Facebook page. The 12 competitors with the highest vote totals will be selected to sing on one of the 12 days of the fair.

There are actually two ways to enter. You can email your submission to newyorkstatefair@agriculture.ny.gov. You must email the actual video file and not a link to a file housed on another site.

The other way is to use the entry form on the Fair's Facebook page.

Don't forget to include your name, address, and phone number. Public voting on the 20 finalists will begin June 14th and runs through July 3rd. Winners will be announced on July 5th.
