Signs That Your Kids Are Growing Fast

Kidabaloo is just over a month away. It's indoor fun for the young and there will be a special appearance and meet and greet with Karan Brar.  He's the character Ravi from Disney’s television show ‘Jessie.' This got me thinking about my kids.

To quote Darius Rucker, “It Won’t Be Last Like This For Long.” I always think of the kids when I hear that song.  Something happened that made me realize that they grow up so fast. Tara's old sneakers were in the garbage….just sitting there.

I looked at them and said to myself, “Wow she’s getting so big too quick.”  So there I am standing in the kitchen, staring at a pair of sneakers in the garbage. My mind goes back to when she was born…on my birthday (best birthday present ever.)

I think back to when she would ask me to come to her classroom and perform my only magic trick, "The Disappearing Foot Trick." She used to say it embarrassed her but I think she secretly liked it.

I think about the mornings when I check on the girls before I go to work. Some mornings I’ll stand and watch them sleep. I hope they don’t wake up, that would be quite a shock.

All the memories came flooding out, all as I’m watching an old pair of shoes in the garbage. I’m glad I was the only one there.  I’m so blessed to have my family and they are growing up so fast.
