The month of July is in the rearview, and so is the game that was played on July 31. After splitting the double-header, the Rumble Ponies looked to close out the SeaWolves series with a win for an awesome start to August.

After three scoreless innings, the top of the fourth was when the action started to amp up. Josh Lester doubled to left, scoring both Kody Eaves and Cam Gibson. Sergio Alcantara followed with an RBI single to bring home Lester. This would put Erie on top 3-0 after four.

Fast-forward to the bottom of the eighth where Jason Krizan grounded one to left field to score Quinn Brodey. Binghamton managed to get on the board and make it a 3-1 Erie lead.

The SeaWolves would deal more damage to the Ponies in the top of the ninth. Isaac Paredes singled on a grounder to left, bringing in Alcantara. Jose Azocar's double allowed Derek Hill to cross home plate as well, bolstering Erie's lead to four.

Binghamton would go down in order, falling by a final score of 5-1. The Rumble Ponies record drops to 56-52 overall. They will travel to Akron for a three-game series that begins on August 2 at Canal Park. The start time is 7:05 P.M.
