‘Porch Theft’ Increases During The Holidays

It seems only natural with holiday package delivery on the increase from the US Postal Service, UPS and others, porch theft increases.  With over 1 billion packages being delivered this year alone, that's an eye opener for thief to get an idea in their head.

Last year, the US Postal Service had more than 2,000 thefts reported.  UPS says package theft is extremely rare, but hidden cameras on line seem to disagree.

The US Postal Inspection Service reminds "everyone to be vigilant during the holidays."  When I order something on line, I try to take note as to when the expected delivery date is and make an effort to be on the look out for the delivery.  Also, when you get to know your delivery person, let them know your preference as to what door you would like your package left at.
