The Rumble Ponies fell 4-0 to the Portland Sea Dogs on August 29, ending the series on a sour note. On August 30, Binghamton kicked off the final series of the season against the Hartford Yard Goats.

The Yard Goats wasted no time getting on the board. It was the top of the first where a bunt off the bat of Manuel Melendez brought in Vance Vizcaino. Binghamton wasn't able to respond in the bottom half of the inning, so it was an early 1-0 lead for Hartford.

Dustin Houle would help the Rumble Ponies in the bottom half of the fourth. His fly ball double to right field scored Jeremy Vasquez. This helped tie the ballgame at one apiece after four innings of play.

The bottom of the seventh was when Binghamton started to pull away. An RBI single from Andres Gimenez sent home Cody Bohanek. Gimenez would steal second base allowing Edgardo Fermin to score. Rumble Ponies led 3-1 after seven.

The eighth inning was an even exchange of runs for both teams. Hartford's Scott Burcham singled on a line drive to center to bring in Vince Fernandez. For Binghamton, it was Houle reaching on a fielding error that allowed Patrick Mazeika to cross home plate. Good defense at the top of the ninth secured the victory for the Rumble Ponies by a final score of 4-2.

Binghamton's record bumps up to 65-72 overall. The second game of the final series is scheduled for a 6:35 P.M. start time on August 31 from NYSEG Stadium.
