PayPal Makes Man a Quadrillionaire

For just a couple minutes, Chris Reynolds was the richest man on Earth.

Chris Reynolds of Pennsylvania got a HUGE surprise when he logged into his PayPal account and instead of seeing a balance of $0 as he expected, the account had $92,233,720,368,547,800 in it. That’s more than 92 quadrillion dollars! Unfortunately it didn’t last long.  The next time he logged back into his account the balance was back to $0.

He didn’t get to keep any of the money, but Chris told the United Press International this is what he’d do with the money:

“I would pay the national debt down first. Then I would buy the Phillies, if I could get a great price.”  He did manage to donate $30 to the Democratic candidate for Delaware County Council. "I was moved to be really generous by good fortune."

PayPal admitted the error and offered to donate an unspecified amount of money to a cause of Reynolds' choice.

Can you imagine what you’d do if you opened your PayPal account to check your balance and it said $92,233,720,368,547,800?
